STARES
Power, strength, might, all in one she had. Beauty was all, her beauty was it, her beauty was her strength, raw and rare.
men fell at her feet, her worship was a gift
Everywhere she went, it was all stares, no one would look on her beauty and not yearn for another glimpse. Her face was gold, her hair diamond and her feet silver.
She learnt to use her beauty, her strength, to the greatest length, the greatest advantage.
Her words were commands. Men fell, women followed.
She was pure gold.. Until she faded way.
Fire burnt her inside out, her beauty fell and so did the stares too.
Her once golden skin became like burnt plastic, her adored feet like dried bones. The fire, not only did it burn her skin, but her heart too, down to the depths of her gut.
One would think the stares would all go away, for alas she wasnt beautiful again, but not only did it stay it went ablaze. But they were a different kind of stare.
They were the kind that spelt hatred, repulse and occasionally; pity. Of Course every one wanted a second glimpse - a glimpse at the burnt girl, a second glimpse at the ugly, a second glimpse of repulse.
The stares were the lone and last straw. The straw that broke her back. Someone so used to being adored and praised, she never knew people could stare so wickedly, the same people that used to give the loving stare all now turned into stares of hatred.. It pricked her heart and melted the remains of her burnt bones.
It crushed her burnt self to total pulp. Tears weren't enough expression, for her pains were from her depths.
Nothing would work, she tried reaching out to the ones that mattered "maybe they were mistaken, she didn't change at heart, only her skin was burnt". But they always seemed to look away after the second glimpse like she was that irritating maggot in the gutter's depths
